Background

Hello again,

to give you a background on my Gary Family. My great great grandfather was Judge William Theodore Gary, wife of Frances Harriss Phinizy, and brother of General Martin Witherspoon Gary. Which comes to, my great grandfather who was Atty. William Theodore Gary, Jr., husband of Irene Merilese von Kamp. The von Kamp family comes from Ruhrort, Germany. We have a bunch of archives for the von Kamp families. And Gary, JR. had three children, William Theodore Gary, III, Albert von Kamp Gary, and Maude Gary Doris. Maude married Cokie Doris or his actual name "Bernard Doris", whose all of his brothers, and his father, were all priests in the Catholic Church, I believe. My grandfather was Albert von Kamp Gary, a World War II Veteran, and a skilled genealogist. When he was 12 he went to stay with his cousin, at Oakley Park, Edgefield, 1932, who was the sister of Governor John Gary Evans of South Carolina. The Judge Gary, my gg-grandfather, was the son of Dr. Thomas Reeder Gary and Mary Ann Porter (Porter descended from Royal Throne of Great Britain, France, Germany, and Italy), e-mail us for information regarding that. Dr. TR Gary was the son of Capt. Jesse Gary and Mary Elizabeth Reeder. Capt. Gary was the son of Thomas West Gary and Rebecca A. Jones. TW Gary was the son of Charles Gary and Patience West. I have more information on my Gary roots, that will be updated soon.
